More Wisdom from BPTD (Big Panda, Tiny Dragon)

Updated: Aug 28, 2023

For the last month, camp was my home base and at each staff meeting we would start with a page from Big Panda, Tiny Dragon by James Norbury. It was always the first bullet on our agendas...BPTD. This page was one of the last days and it seemed so fitting for the end of camp and the start of another year of school and the Jewish new year to come.

Then I read it again this morning and realized that the message is not only about these big transitional moments. In fact, it's just the opposite. Big Panda is reminding us that we always have a chance to switch gears, to take a new path, to try something new, to change a mood, a relationship, or an interaction. While our past informs us, it does not have to determine our future. If we made a mistake, we can course correct - even in that moment or even if it's a mistake we've made over and over again before.

What do you want to let go of and start again?
