Stories - They're Not Just for Kids

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

Why I love stories for internalizing life lessons

Living Vicariously Through the Story

Good storytelling is an art. It is, perhaps, the oldest form of communicating ideas, values and information from one person to another. A good story will draw in the listener and allow her to live vicariously through the characters. Whatever the characters experience, she will too. It can be a way to learn about a new culture, explore emotions that are difficult to access, and, of course, entertain.

Learning From A Story

When we are faced with difficulties or when we are attempting to explore our own traits and striving to be the best version of ourselves, it can be hard to separate what we need to learn from the noise. A well placed story, with the message and lesson driven by the plot line and characters, can do that for us in a way that conversation and lectures can't. And stories that have survived the test of time, those are still around for a REASON. They have spoken to the heart of humanity for years and found that they land in a way that inspires the telling and re-telling.
